“Do You Need To Be Grounded?”

Insiders Report – August 14, 2009
====================================================

I want to thank all of you who expressed your sympathy at my
Mother’s passing a few weeks ago. I really appreciate all of your
kind and encouraging words. It means a great deal to me.

God has remained faithful as always to me and my family during
this time, and my faith in Him is what will keep me going. Thanks
again and enjoy this week’s tip.

Good hunting and God bless,

Dave

Do You Need To Be Grounded?
You already know that you have to get close to a big buck to kill
him. We’re talking 20 yards or so with a bow. AND you have to
draw your bow, or raise your rifle at the moment of truth without
being detected.

These are the primary reasons that tree stands are so popular,
but have you ever considered hunting from a ground blind? Many
hunters are now using them, and as is the case with any type of
gear, your success with a ground blind boils down to how well you
use it.

Ground blinds offer some great advantages. They are light weight
and portable. Most are very quick and easy to set up, and they
can be used in a vast variety of locations.

Ground blinds aren’t fool-proof, so here are just a few quick
tips to improve your chances when using one:
  • Brush it in to blend with your surroundings
  • Place it in the shadows when possible
  • Clear debris inside the blind to reduce noise
  • Use the debris to pack the bottom edge on the outside to
    create a scent barrier
  • Keep the windows to your rear closed
  • Wear black clothes especially gloves and hat
If you follow these tips you just might find yourself up close
and personal with a big buck this fall, and still remain
undetected even at eye level!

That’s it for this week!
